Looking for a way to be a part of the story of manifesting our renovated play yard for the children? We invite you to come together as a community for a magical and joyous evening of giving that will bring the final phase of our much dreamed about play yard to fruition this summer.
When You Wish Upon a Star Gala, taking place on Saturday, May 7, is a time to raise funds to make the new play yard for our students and community a reality! As with all things at our school, the success of the gala depends on many hands and hearts contributing in a variety of ways. Being a part of making our dream of a new play yard come true will look different for every person. Below are some ways to help out:
Submit an offering for the auction!
If you already know what you want to contribute, please fill out this form. If you need more information about what this means, please check out our info sheet.
Volunteer with our Silent Auction Super Squad!
Are you ready and willing to hit the streets in our neighborhood and community to ask local businesses if they have an item they would like to donate to support our school? Or maybe you are more about the behind the scenes work and love tracking data, taking pictures, and keeping things organized. We need you! Join fellow parent volunteer leader, Jay Rajaratnam, in making this year’s auction offerings one of the best yet. This volunteer opportunity can be very flexible according to your schedule and will last only through May 7th. Email Ed or Kate if interested (emails below).
Organize a class basket for the silent auction with other families in your child’s class/es.
In past years, parents have self-organized with families of their child’s class to create themed baskets that are then auctioned off at the gala. If this sounds like fun and meaningful for you, feel free to start organizing! Let us know if this is something you are doing and if we can support in any way.
Help us sponsor the event.
Sponsorships are a special way for community members and/or businesses to support a cause they care about by helping to cover the cost of the event as well as invite new or familiar people to participate in the evening. This can look like organizing a group to sponsor a table, individually sponsoring a table, and/or asking your workplace or an organization to sponsor the event. More information is coming soon. If you are interested or have questions, please reach out!
Keep your eyes open for some sneak peeks into the gala as well as opening of ticket sales this coming week! If you have any questions, ideas, and/or feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Development Director, Ed Nelsen, at ednelsen@clws.org or our Development Associate, Kate Jacobson, at katejacobson@clws.org.
