City of Lakes Waldorf School Alumni Earn Academic Honors at DeLaSalle High School

You have done wonderful work preparing your students for high school. We are honored to recognize alums of your school that recently received awards from DeLaSalle High School for their academic success at De.

Earlier this month we inducted 131 members into our chapter of the National Honor Society, 59 as returnees and 72 as new members. We also saluted six students for their National Merit Scholarship recognition, and we awarded pins and/or academic letters to a long list of students who earned a place on the DeLaSalle Honor Roll or High Honor Roll in both semesters of the 2012-13 school year.

Please see the attached letter noting the honorees from City of Lakes Waldorf who were recognized at the program. Thank you for all you did to prepare them for high school. Among the students coming to De from over 115 grade schools, those from City of Lakes Waldorf often stand out in the crowd.

Congratulations to the graduates of City of Lakes Waldorf School, recognized earlier this month at DeLaSalle High School’s annual Academic Awards and National Honor Society Induction ceremonies.

 These honorees were among a distinguished group of over 300 students in grades 10-11-12 recognized at DeLaSalle this year.  Anna Mazig `04, a graduate of Notre Dame and current student at the University of Minnesota Law School, and a Board member of the DeLaSalle Alumni Association, addressed the honored students and their families.

Students were recognized for academic achievement in five different areas:

  • Juniors and seniors were inducted as new or returning members of the DeLaSalle chapter of the National Honor Society; these students have met designated criteria and been selected for membership following assessment by DeLaSalle staff and by current NHS members;
  • Individual seniors who performed exceptionally well on the national standardized exam, the PSAT, received awards for achieving a current standing as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, National Achievement Scholarship Semifinalist, or as a Commended Student in either program by virtue of PSAT scores among the very top students in the nation;
  • Medals were awarded to students who earned “High Honors” in both semesters of the 2012-13 academic year, and
  • Students who earned “Honors” status in both semesters of the 2012-13 academic year also received medals.
  • Academic letters were presented to students who have achieved Honor Roll status for at least four semesters while enrolled at DeLaSalle

Thank you for joining us in saluting these outstanding students for their accomplishments in areas of academics.  We also congratulate their families and their teachers for extraordinary preparation and ongoing support of these outstanding young men and women.
