We are pleased to announce Sarina Yospin as next year’s First Grade teacher at City of Lakes Waldorf School. Ms. Yospin is thrilled to have the opportunity to begin the journey through the grades with our rising Grade One students after graduating this year’s Eighth Grade class in June.
Ms. Yospin joined our faculty in 2012 as the Fifth Grade teacher. We have had the privilege of working with her and getting to know her over the past four years. She has demonstrated her natural gifts as a teacher and her capacity to bring warmth, joy, enthusiasm and creativity to her lessons. Ms. Yospin possesses the important qualities needed of a Waldorf teacher: personal initiative, self-reflection, multi-faceted intelligence, a strong capacity to bring the rich Waldorf curriculum through academic and artistic instruction, a profound interest in the world we live in—and a love of the children. You may have already had the opportunity to experience her musical gifts as she conducted the middle school choir!
A Boston native, Ms. Yospin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Carleton College with a degree in Geology and completion of an Earth and Space Science Teaching Licensure Program. Her training included participation in a Bio-geoscience Program in Australia and a semester of study with the well-known Woods Hole Sea Education Association on Cape Cod. Ms. Yospin also completed a Certificate in Environmental Education through Hamline University. Ms. Yospin’s past teaching experience includes her work with children at The Bakken Museum of Science, Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, and Headway Academy, where she taught the sciences to middle school and high school students in the 2011-12 school year. She recently graduated from a three-year Waldorf teacher certification program at Sunbridge Institute and will attend an intensive preparatory course on “The Art of Teaching Grade One” this summer.
We are excited to welcome Ms. Yospin as our First Grade teacher, and for our First Grade families as you begin the joyful educational journey through the grades that is ahead.
